About me

Hi, I'm Claire 👋🏼

I was born and bred in Fife, survived my university years in Aberdeen City, and now live in the beautiful North East of Scotland with my husband and our cocker spaniel. 🐾

I’m a lifelong lover of books – and can often be found with my nose in one. I’m an insufferable ‘grammar-corrector’ (much to the delight of my friends and family), and I firmly believe in the magic of reading.

I studied Music, as well as Primary Education at the University of Aberdeen and I'm now completing my degree in English Literature with the Open University. I left teaching in March 2025 and have since created and run my own tutoring business.

I started writing as a hobby to keep myself creatively active while working from home. That then turned into 'I've always wanted to write a book, it would be really amazing to finish this.' Which then turned into 'oh okay, I'll publish it!'

Noticeboard Neighbours is my debut novel, releasing February 2026. A creative hobby that turned into a dream I never really knew I had.
